WHAT YOU SHOULD DO:
# 1. Post a blog 3 times a week (M, W & F) of at least 200 words. In your blogs you could:
-describe something you learned
-explain something that surprised you
-give an update about stuff you're working on
-explain how you solved a problem
-tell a cool story
Also include images, sounds or video from your project.
# 2. Respond thoughtfully to another blogger's posts on this site. Post 1 of these response-blogs per week (200 or more words each).
Each of you is expected to contribute to this blog--even if you're working with another senior or with a group.
I'm really looking forward to following your project via your postings! Have fun!

Travis, I love your self-portrait! Not being an artist at all myself, where do you even manage to start when approaching a canvas? I personally would feel so overwhelmed by the possibility of what I could do and more importantly, of what I could mess up! I feel like a self-potrait is the most difficult subject matter in art because, as well as you may know yourself, how do you choose how to best represent yourself? I think your self-potrait is really interesting due to how much space your actual subject, your potrayal of yourself, takes up in the painting. I like the perspective of your painting, how you are slightly sideways and also that your arm is reaching off the page. Although I notice your portrayal of yourself because it is the main focus, the background of your painting is just as noticeable. The contrast of the earth tones of dark blue, green, and beige are striking next to the bright red and blue. Your choice of objects to place in the background is interesting also. I like the lava lamp and the twinkle lights, both sources of light although very different. I am really looking forward to seeing this piece finished, and I can’t wait to hear the artist's explanation for his artwork! Bravo Travissimo!
