WHAT YOU SHOULD DO:

# 1. Post a blog 3 times a week (M, W & F) of at least 200 words. In your blogs you could:
-describe something you learned
-explain something that surprised you
-give an update about stuff you're working on
-explain how you solved a problem
-tell a cool story

Also include images, sounds or video from your project.

# 2. Respond thoughtfully to another blogger's posts on this site. Post 1 of these response-blogs per week (200 or more words each).

Each of you is expected to contribute to this blog--even if you're working with another senior or with a group.

I'm really looking forward to following your project via your postings! Have fun!

Good Progress

finished self portrait

new piece that I am working on at the moment

landscape painting that I did today with the help of Bess Richard

Today and Thursday I made a lot of good progress on my art. Firstly, I finished my self portrait. It was good because I had to take a break from it and I started on it again Thursday afternoon. I saw things that needed work that I did not see on Wednesday. I fixed all the errors and it looks great! Then I started a new piece. It is inspired by the death of my dog, Wendy, which was this past fall. It is on a piece of dry wall that is about 5 feet tall and 3 feet wide. The composition is really interesting and it tells a story which is always an important aspect when creating a piece of art. I am planning to use a variety of different media such as charcoal, acrylic and newspaper. I am very excited about this piece. I worked on it today in the morning and then in the afternoon I met with my sponsor again and we started my first landscape piece. My sponsor, Bess Richard, is very talented when doing landscapes so she was very helpful along the way with dealing with perspectives and angles. It turned out surprisingly well.

  1. Travis these are amazing! wow. I know how you feel with having to take a break. I had to stare at the computer working on photo shop for way to long and needed to take a break and refresh my brain so I could start again!
