WHAT YOU SHOULD DO:

# 1. Post a blog 3 times a week (M, W & F) of at least 200 words. In your blogs you could:
-describe something you learned
-explain something that surprised you
-give an update about stuff you're working on
-explain how you solved a problem
-tell a cool story

Also include images, sounds or video from your project.

# 2. Respond thoughtfully to another blogger's posts on this site. Post 1 of these response-blogs per week (200 or more words each).

Each of you is expected to contribute to this blog--even if you're working with another senior or with a group.

I'm really looking forward to following your project via your postings! Have fun!

Thursday

Thursday I did some accounting in the morning for my sponsor and helped her get it out of the way. I cut up some raffle tickets for the benefit event coming up in two weeks. For about three hours, I finished mounting the Washington Elementary students' artwork on colored paper, then stapled it up on display. This task was extremely tedious but also very rewarding, and it felt good to be finished.
What was interesting about this experience was the amount of freedom I had with it and how uncomfortable that made me. When she gave me the task of mounting and stapling up kids' artwork, she gave me no specific instructions. She told me where the construction paper was, what areas they could be stapled in, and handed me a staple gun. This made me strangely nervous and the entire time I was afraid I was doing it wrong or I was going to mess something up and she'd make me remove all the staples and try again. I'm the type of person who wants to have exact instructions so that everything will be perfect, so this made me kind of uneasy. In the end, my sponsor walked by and simply said, "Good!" This was a relief, and I'm kind of glad that she took me out of my comfort zone.
