WHAT YOU SHOULD DO:

# 1. Post a blog 3 times a week (M, W & F) of at least 200 words. In your blogs you could:
-describe something you learned
-explain something that surprised you
-give an update about stuff you're working on
-explain how you solved a problem
-tell a cool story

Also include images, sounds or video from your project.

# 2. Respond thoughtfully to another blogger's posts on this site. Post 1 of these response-blogs per week (200 or more words each).

Each of you is expected to contribute to this blog--even if you're working with another senior or with a group.

I'm really looking forward to following your project via your postings! Have fun!

Day 3: 120 Eyeballs

Last Friday was a day filled with learning experiences. As an intern at Create A Cake, I am required to not only learn the baking side, but also the business side of the bakery. Therefore, I learned to answer the phone, stock inventory, and package supplies for sale.

There is something to say about seeing a sheet of wax paper covered by candy eyes. As you look at the sheet of 12o eyes, which are looking back at you, it actually is a little creepy. Anyways, our task was to package the eyes. After about an hour of counting out eyes and packaging them, Eileen and I moved on to bundling bags together for purchase.

The day before I had worked on making tags for the products. That meant that Eileen and I were cutting card stock and stamping it with the Create A Cake logo and address. We attached these tags to a bunch of inventory to sell.

The first time I answered the phone my heart was pounding in my ears. What if I said the wrong thing or tripped over my words and made a fool of myself? Needless to say, I made it through the phone call without a hitch.
