WHAT YOU SHOULD DO:

# 1. Post a blog 3 times a week (M, W & F) of at least 200 words. In your blogs you could:
-describe something you learned
-explain something that surprised you
-give an update about stuff you're working on
-explain how you solved a problem
-tell a cool story

Also include images, sounds or video from your project.

# 2. Respond thoughtfully to another blogger's posts on this site. Post 1 of these response-blogs per week (200 or more words each).

Each of you is expected to contribute to this blog--even if you're working with another senior or with a group.

I'm really looking forward to following your project via your postings! Have fun!

Ego

Admittedly, I feel like I am in better shape and can do more than most of the people in the gym. On Monday 5/9 Ben and I were taking a water break when our mentor, Lem, mentioned we should try a cardio strength class that was just about to start. I peered in the side room and say 5 or 6 ladies about 50 years old with several weights and an instructor. I politely declined thinking it would be a waste of time. The instructor, Lem and another member of the club convinced me it would be worthwhile. They said grab a light, medium and heavy weight. I grabbed 12, 15 and 20 pound weights. When I entered the class I noticed most women had 3, 5 and 7 pound weights or 5, 7 and 10. The instructor told me to grab 5, 7 and 10 pounders. obliged. we warmed up with jumping jacks and in place sprints and I thought this would easy. As we moved to the floor we began doing moves I could barely complete. All the moves were to the beat of modern music I enjoyed so each move was about 3 minutes long. Ben and I looked at each other with worried looks, we were struggling 10 minutes into the class. I looked over at the ladies who seemed to be struggling as well but as a couple year veterans of the class they were able to do it. The moves involved multiple movements from crunches while shoulder pressing 10 pounds for almost 3 minutes and several moves to "tone the places men look at the most." The hour long class was extremely hard even with such light weights. The funniest and most disturbing part of the class was when several of the ladies were belting out lyrics to very promiscuous and sexual songs...
