WHAT YOU SHOULD DO:

# 1. Post a blog 3 times a week (M, W & F) of at least 200 words. In your blogs you could:
-describe something you learned
-explain something that surprised you
-give an update about stuff you're working on
-explain how you solved a problem
-tell a cool story

Also include images, sounds or video from your project.

# 2. Respond thoughtfully to another blogger's posts on this site. Post 1 of these response-blogs per week (200 or more words each).

Each of you is expected to contribute to this blog--even if you're working with another senior or with a group.

I'm really looking forward to following your project via your postings! Have fun!

Week 2, Monday

I've known for a while that the Fine Arts Association brings in kids from schools around Willoughby and Mentor and does programs with them. However, I was told today that they also do programs specifically with homeschooled kids around the area, who come to Fine Arts once every week to rehearse. They do a combination of singing and dancing, put on recitals, and are split into one group for older kids and one group for younger kids. This morning I worked with the younger kids, who were from ages 3 - 8.
There kids were by far my favorites that I've worked with since I've been at Fine Arts. There were 10 - 15 of them, each of them unique and fun. There was Joey, who obviously hated being there and would hide in the boys' restroom so that the female instructor couldn't make him come out, Casey, who was the four year old female version of Daniel DiSanto in both looks and personality, Emma, who was sort of the mom of the group and would instruct her friends in singing the correct lyrics and doing the right dance steps, and many more. Almost all of them had a genuine interest in singing and were excited when the instructor would let them sing songs like "Pizza Hut" and "Music and Me." I had loads of fun helping out and getting to know the kdis, and I hope my sponor lets me help out with more classes in the future.
