WHAT YOU SHOULD DO:

# 1. Post a blog 3 times a week (M, W & F) of at least 200 words. In your blogs you could:
-describe something you learned
-explain something that surprised you
-give an update about stuff you're working on
-explain how you solved a problem
-tell a cool story

Also include images, sounds or video from your project.

# 2. Respond thoughtfully to another blogger's posts on this site. Post 1 of these response-blogs per week (200 or more words each).

Each of you is expected to contribute to this blog--even if you're working with another senior or with a group.

I'm really looking forward to following your project via your postings! Have fun!

Clean the Mirrors

Wednesday, May 04, 2011

Today was quite easily the best time I have ever had while working out. We started by working on our abs then moved on to a circuit workout designed to target our legs, shoulders, chest, and back. After hearing me make fun of the "useless" StairMaster machines, Josh shut me up by getting me to do a high-speed, 30 minute cardio session with him, after which I gained a brand new respect for stairs. After climbing the number of stairs you would find in a sizable skyscraper, we used our remaining energy on a boxing lesson with Lem. He taught us some basic punching combinations and footwork. After hearing how much we enjoyed learning about boxing, Lem told us that we will be continuing to learn more about the sport during our project.

Of course after having so much fun with boxing, there had to be some monotonous part of fitness center upkeep coming next. All Lem said as he left the room was "there's nothing going on for awhile... Clean the mirrors." I thought we were done working out for the time being, but apparently cleaning every inch of an entire mirrored wall with a bottle of Windex and a roll of paper towels isn't easy work.

After working with Lem and lacrosse practice on Friday, Josh and I are going to the grocery store to stock up on healthy foods.

I'm looking forward to tomorrow's boxing lesson and whatever workout Lem has in store for us. Until then, this half of swole-nation is going to sleep. Have a good night.
