WHAT YOU SHOULD DO:

# 1. Post a blog 3 times a week (M, W & F) of at least 200 words. In your blogs you could:
-describe something you learned
-explain something that surprised you
-give an update about stuff you're working on
-explain how you solved a problem
-tell a cool story

Also include images, sounds or video from your project.

# 2. Respond thoughtfully to another blogger's posts on this site. Post 1 of these response-blogs per week (200 or more words each).

Each of you is expected to contribute to this blog--even if you're working with another senior or with a group.

I'm really looking forward to following your project via your postings! Have fun!

Day 3 (Friday the 6th)

This day was mainly about running a business. I restocked cake boards, pastry flavoring, colored sugar, bags, cupcake containers, cake decorations, and much more. It was somewhat boring work, but it did make me more familiar with the store. I don’t need to ask where something is as much anymore. I am more confident about where I need to go to retrieve or look for something.

Since I’ve been at the bakery, the first order for a wedding cake arrived! I was so excited. Sandy, my sponsor, already started working on the design of the cake when I first saw it. It is a three layer cake with each layer altering in direction so it doesn’t stack straight up and parallel to the other cakes. She also wrapped a light green ribbon around the cake base. I also helped a little bit on the wedding cake! She asked me to make icing the same color of the ribbon by adding in a type of dye. It was like trying to create the perfect color when you paint. I think it is so cool that I officially contributed at least a little bit to a wedding cake; I mean not many people can say that they helped make a wedding cake.

Other things I learned how to make since last blog:

- pecan pie

- peanut butter filling (Chloe and I did that all by ourselves)
